Chief Justice Waller Absent From '11 Rundown

Howdy, folks. Hope everybody had a merry Christmas.

Molly Parker of The Clarion-Ledger treats Monday readers to the paper's most intensive look yet at the field of potential statewide candidates in 2011. Noticeably absent from the discussion is the name of Chief Justice Waller of the Mississippi Supreme Court, who was the subject of gubernatorial speculation earlier this year.

The omission doesn't necessarily mean that the chief justice is in or out, of course, but at the very least, it does demonstrate that he's not making any noise.

I really don't see anything changing. The best part about 2011 is the contrast between Dave D. and Phil. Tate is too smart to battle against Phil and too young not to wait two more terms. DH won't run for Gov. Also, Phil will be backing Hewes for LG like it's 1999. They will be a silent ticket. Should be fun to watch.
